Whether you are reading this prior to visiting us, or as a first-time visitor, you are always welcome at historic St. Peter’s Church, a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas.
St. Peter’s first was a mission church in the 1870s, and became an established parish in 1882. In that year, construction was completed on a new church. The present worship space was built in 1894!
Through the years, St. Peter’s Church has had many pioneers and personalities in its family. Today’s congregation, as always, practices the inclusive Gospel of Jesus Christ:
This means you may be mixing with tax-collectors, sinners, adulterers, hypocrites, Greeks, Jews, women as well as men, children, female and male priests, all sexualities, the disabled, the dying, thieves and other sinners of all colors and creeds, Bishops, bigots, people of other faiths, strangers from Rome and Nigeria, heretics, etc. etc. And yes, even you, are most welcome, in fact anyone like those with whom Jesus mixed.
SO, BEWARE, THIS IS NOT A PRIVATE CLUB!
WELCOME TO ALL!
